Waraku redeems itself

Sweet and short post today. Despite my disappointment with my meal at Pasta de Waraku the other day, I visited the place again this afternoon with a friend who’s visiting Singapore from Penang.

I stuck to what I knew for sure would be good: Grilled Hamburg in Steamed Egg

This was a nice thick patty of the most tenderlicious meat, grilled lightly then steamed in an egg bath of eggs, some kind of flavorful broth, onions, carrots, and green peppers. The melted mozzarella cheese on top was the perfect amount for fun stringiness, unlike the tofu in squid ink sauce that was total cheese-overload.

My friend got the creamy clam and roe pasta:

And garlic-potato cheese toasts:

After lunch we wanted to watch Bride Wars, but was unwilling to wait 2 hours for the next available showtime, so went to the National Library instead. Yup, we’re total nerds. I’m so glad I found a fellow bookworm!

And then dinner:

Is it just me, or is my dinner smiling at me? I'm not imagining it, right? This Eggplasta Pudding totally has a face!

Alright, I’m off to catch me the latest Gossip Girl episode! Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) is such a hunk, and Blaire (Leighton Meester) is so beautiful! Serena and Dan, on the other hand, bo-ring.

But anyway, check out Hangry Pants for some free almond butter giveaway! I have never tried almond butter before because of its price, so would love it if I could win (thought with my luck it won’t ever happen). I know there are other nut butters around too, like cashew, macadamia, and hazelnut. But they’re all so freaking costly! What is your favorite nut butter?

I dunno, I think I'm pretty partial to good, old peanut butter. How boring!

I want to see Bride Wars too but feel it isn't movie theater worthy. I'll wait for cable!

I think Almond Butter is still my fav!

Love the food combinations you eat! I haven't tried any other nut butters besides peanut, but I want to. I just have been too cheap to do it yet!

I think my favorite has to be PB! I like almond butter a lot, but I've grown up on PB so I guess that's why I favor it.
